1 Senate Resolution No. ____
2 A resolution commending Sergeant Major Terry J.
3 Robinson upon the occasion of his retirement
4 from the United States Army after 24 years of
5 dedicated service to his country.

7 WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Terry J. Robinson, the oldest
8 son of James and Margaret Robinson, is a native of Marianna,
9 Florida, and
10 WHEREAS, he entered the Army on October 17, 1978, and,
11 during his 24 years as a military man, he served in a variety
12 of assignments, including two overseas tours to Korea and
13 Germany, and
14 WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Robinson also has rendered
15 outstanding service as a Radio Teletype Operator/Team
16 Chief/Supervisor, Senior Drill Sergeant, Tactical
17 Communications Chief, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Instructor (NCO
18 Academy), First Sergeant (three tours, in Germany, Fort
19 Stewart, Georgia, and Korea), Operations NCOIC of the
20 Regimental Officer Academy, and Chief Instructor of the
21 Regimental Officer Academy, and he presently serves as Deputy
22 Commandant of the Regimental Noncommissioned Officer Academy
23 at the U.S. Army Signal Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and
24 WHEREAS, he has attended several military schools and
25 has attained distinction in his graduation from diverse
26 institutions of learning: he is an Honor Graduate of the NBC
27 Defensive Course at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and the Signal 7
28 Course at Bad Toelz, Germany, and a Distinguished Honor
29 Graduate of the Basic Leadership Course and the Advanced
30 Noncommissioned Officer Course; he exceeded course standards
31 as a graduate of the Sergeants Major Academy nonresident class

1 of 2000; he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Military
2 College with an Associate in Applied Science/General Studies;
3 and he graduated with honors from Voorhees College with a
4 Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management, and
5 WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Robinson is currently pursuing
6 a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at Troy State
7 University, and
8 WHEREAS, his awards include the Meritorious Service
9 Medal with 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Commendation Medal with
10 4th Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Achievement Medal with 1st Oak Leaf
11 Cluster; Good Conduct Medal, 8th Award; National Defense
12 Service Medal; Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 4;
13 Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 4;
14 and the Drill Sergeant Badge, and
15 WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Robinson and his wife, Mary,
16 have four children, including sons Darrin and David and
17 daughters Shineka and Selena, NOW, THEREFORE,

19 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
20
21 That the Florida Senate congratulates Sergeant Major
22 Terry J. Robinson upon the occasion of his retirement after 24
23 years in the United States Army and commends him for his
24 outstanding record of service and educational achievement.
25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
26 with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Sergeant
27 Major Terry J. Robinson as a tangible token of the sentiments
28 expressed herein.
