Remove line(s) 18-54, and insert: |

(7) Each licensed facility not operated by the state shall |
|
17
|
make available to the public on its Internet website or by other |
|
18
|
electronic means a list of charges for the top 20 percent of the |
|
19
|
most frequently used charge items in each hospital’s charge |
|
20
|
master for both inpatient and outpatient services. The list |
|
21
|
shall be updated monthly. The facility shall place a notice in |
|
22
|
the reception areas that such information is available |
|
23
|
electronically and the website address and provide an electronic |
|
24
|
link to the agency’s website to determine the average charge per |
|
25
|
diagnosis-related groups that is available.
|
|

|
(8) Each licensed facility not operated by the state |
|
27
|
shall, upon request of a prospective patient prior to the |
|
28
|
provision of medical services, provide a reasonable estimate of |
|
29
|
charges for the proposed service. Such estimate shall not |
|
30
|
preclude the actual charges from exceeding the estimate based on |
|
31
|
changes in the patient’s medical condition or the treatment |
|
32
|
needs of the patient as determined by the attending and |
|
33
|
consulting physicians.
