  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to credit reports; providing

  3         that each resident of this state shall receive

  4         a free credit report once a year; providing an

  5         effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  In order to facilitate checking information

10  in a consumer credit report and disputing any inaccurate

11  information, as permitted by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting

12  Act, each resident of this state shall once a year receive a

13  free copy of his or her consumer credit report, upon his or

14  her request.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
