11 Senator Lynn moved the following amendment:

13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 11, lines 8 through 26, delete those lines
15
16 and insert:
17 (7) Funds for the corporation shall be appropriated in
18 a special category. The corporation may purchase expert
19 consultation and staff support services necessary to perform
20 its duties from funds appropriated to the department for this
21 purpose. In addition, within resources appropriated to the
22 department for the corporation, the corporation may appoint
23 one employee who shall serve as the liaison between the
24 corporation, the state agencies and organizations with which
25 the corporation contracts or enters into memoranda of
26 agreement. This employee shall be appointed by and serve at
27 the pleasure of the corporation and is an employee of the
28 corporation, not of the state. Provision of other staff
29 support required by the corporation shall be provided by the
30 department as negotiated in the contract developed pursuant to
31 subsection (5).

1 (8) The corporation must develop a budget request for
2 its operation and must submit the request to the Governor and
3 the Legislature pursuant to chapter 216 through the secretary
