13         Senate Amendment 
14         On page 122, lines 3-8, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         63.235  Petitions filed before effective date October
18  1, 2001; governing law.--Any petition for adoption filed
19  before the effective date of this act October 1, 2001, shall
20  be governed by the law in effect at the time the petition was
21  filed.
22         Section 39.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a
23  law.
