2 A resolution recognizing and commending Tampa
3 Catholic High School and its Senior Class of
4 2003 for their outstanding community service
5 accomplishments.

7 WHEREAS, the Tampa Catholic High School Senior Class of
8 2003 has volunteered a total of more than 10,000 community
9 service hours since entering the school as freshmen, and
10 WHEREAS, this year the Tampa Catholic High School
11 Senior Class of 2003 motivated the entire student body to
12 raise more than $2,000 for the "Pennies for St. Jude's Kids
13 Fundraiser" in January 2003 through collections in homerooms,
14 at basketball games, and in the lunchroom, and
15 WHEREAS, in a field of 20 other Tampa Bay area schools,
16 Tampa Catholic High School raised the most money in the St.
17 Jude's Fundraiser competition, winning $10,000-worth of new
18 computer equipment, and
19 WHEREAS, the Tampa Catholic High School Senior Class of
20 2003, which led this fundraising effort, is donating the
21 computers to the media center that will be located in the
22 school's new Science and Technology Building, and
23 WHEREAS, the Tampa Catholic High School Senior Class of
24 2003 has fully exemplified the goals of Tampa Catholic High
25 School - to teach the gospel message, build community, and
26 foster service to others, NOW, THEREFORE,

28 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

1 That the members of this body recognize and commend
2 Tampa Catholic High School and its Senior Class of 2003 for
3 their leadership, service, and achievement in their community.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
5 with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the
6 Senior Class of Tampa Catholic High School as a tangible token
7 of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
