1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the Central Florida Regional
3 Transportation Authority; amending s. 343.63,
4 F.S.; revising membership of the governing
5 board of the authority; providing an effective
6 date.

8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10 Section 1. Subsections (2) and (3) of section 343.63,
11 Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
12 343.63 Central Florida Regional Transportation
13 Authority.--
14 (2) The governing board of the authority shall consist
15 of five 11 voting members, and 1 nonvoting member as follows:
16 (a) The chairs of the county commissions of Seminole,
17 Orange, and Osceola Counties or another member of the
18 commission designated by the chair shall each serve as a elect
19 a commissioner as that commission's representative on the
20 board. The commissioner must be a member of the county
21 commission when elected and for the full extent of his or her
22 term. The terms of the county commissioners on the governing
23 board of the authority shall be 2 years.
24 (b) The mayor mayors of the cities of Altamonte
25 Springs, Orlando, or a member of the Orlando City Council and
26 Kissimmee, or a member of each city commission designated by
27 the each mayor, shall serve as a representative a term of 2
28 years on the board for the full extent of his or her term.
29 (c) The Governor shall appoint five members to the
30 board. Two of the members shall be residents of Orange County,
31 one member shall be a resident of Seminole County, one member

1 shall be a resident of Osceola County, and one member shall be
2 a resident of the City of Orlando. All five members shall
3 serve a term of 4 years.
4 (c)(d) The Secretary of Transportation shall appoint
5 the district secretary, or his or her designee, for the
6 district within which the area served by the authority is
7 located and this member shall be a voting nonvoting member.
8 (3) A vacancy during a term shall be filled by the
9 respective appointing authority in the same manner as the
10 original appointment and only for the balance of the unexpired
11 term.
12 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
13 law.

18 This CS/CS makes a number of technical changes to the CS, and
removes the decrease in fees proposed in the CS.
