  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution recognizing the week of June 2-6,

  3         2003, as "Chamber of Commerce Week" in Florida.

  4  

  5         WHEREAS, chambers of commerce are located in local

  6  communities throughout the State of Florida, representing both

  7  small and large businesses, and

  8         WHEREAS, in addition to promoting the business, civic,

  9  and economic interests in the regions served, chambers of

10  commerce provide input to leaders on the local, state, and

11  federal levels of government on various issues of critical

12  concern to chamber members, and

13         WHEREAS, today's chambers of commerce are also

14  vigorously assisting communities in advancing technology,

15  solving problems, and establishing a clear vision for the

16  future, and

17         WHEREAS, chamber volunteers give unselfishly of their

18  time, energy, and expertise to advance the local chamber of

19  commerce mission and meet its annual goals, NOW, THEREFORE,

20  

21  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

22  

23         That the Florida Senate recognizes the merits of all

24  the chambers of commerce across our state and expresses its

25  sincere appreciation for the steadfast efforts of all those

26  involved with chambers of commerce.

27         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida Senate

28  recognizes the week of June 2-6, 2003, as "Chamber of Commerce

29  Week" in Florida.
