1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to Hillsborough County;
3 authorizing the Division of Alcoholic Beverages
4 and Tobacco of the Department of Business and
5 Professional Regulation to issue an alcoholic
6 beverage license to the University Area
7 Community Development Corporation for use
8 within the University Area Community Center
9 Complex and its adjoining patio deck; providing
10 that the license may be used for special events
11 only; providing for payment of the license fee;
12 providing for sale of beverages for consumption
13 within the University Area Community Center
14 Complex and its adjoining patio deck;
15 prohibiting sales for consumption off premises;
16 providing for removal from the premises of
17 partially consumed, open containers; providing
18 for transfer of the license; providing an
19 effective date.

21 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

23 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law,
24 the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco of the
25 Department of Business and Professional Regulation is
26 authorized, upon application, to issue an alcoholic beverage
27 license in accordance with section 561.17, Florida Statutes,
28 to the University Area Community Development Corporation
29 (UACDC), a corporation not for profit, located in Hillsborough
30 County, for use by the corporation solely within the building
31 known as the University Area Community Center Complex (UACCC)

1 and its adjoining patio deck located at 14013 North 22 Street
2 in Tampa. The University Area Community Development
3 Corporation shall pay the applicable license fee provided in
4 section 565.02, Florida Statutes. The license may be used for
5 special events only.
6 Section 2. Alcoholic beverages may be sold by the
7 licensee for consumption within the University Area Community
8 Center Complex and on its adjoining patio deck. The license
9 issued pursuant to this act shall not permit the sale of
10 alcoholic beverages in sealed containers for consumption
11 outside the building and off its patio. Nothing in this act
12 shall prevent a purchaser of such alcoholic beverages from
13 removing an opened, partially consumed container of alcoholic
14 beverage from the premises of the University Area Community
15 Center Complex.
16 Section 3. The University Area Community Development
17 Corporation may transfer the license from time to time to
18 qualified applicants who are either authorized by or under
19 contract with the University Area Community Development
20 Corporation to provide food services at the University Area
21 Community Center Complex. Upon termination of a transferee's
22 authorization or contract, the license shall automatically
23 revert by operation of law to the University Area Community
24 Development Corporation.
25 Section 4. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
26 law.
