Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
|

|
|

|
Section 1. Subsection (5) of section 215.85, Florida |
|
20
|
Statutes, is amended to read: |
|

|
215.85 Direct deposit of public funds.-- |
|
22
|
(5) PROCEDURES FOR WIRE TRANSFER OF |
|
23
|
FUNDS.--Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the |
|
24
|
governing board or officer of any local government who has the |
|
25
|
authority to deposit or withdraw funds is authorized to transfer |
|
26
|
funds from one depository to another or within a depository or |
|
27
|
to another institution, and may transfer funds to pay expenses, |
|
28
|
expenditures, or other disbursements, evidenced by an invoice or |
|
29
|
other appropriate documentationwherein the transfer does not |
|
30
|
represent an expenditure, advance, or reduction of cash assets. |
|
31
|
Such transfer may be made by electronic, telephonic, or other |
|
32
|
medium; and each transfer shall be confirmed in writing and |
|
33
|
signed by the designee of the governing board or officer of the |
|
34
|
local government. |

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003. |
