| 9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | ||
| 10 | |||
| 11 | Section 1. Section 106.426, Florida Statutes, is created | ||
| 12 | to read: | ||
| 13 | 106.426 Clean Money Trust Fund.-- | ||
| 14 | (1) There is created the Clean Money Trust Fund, to be | ||
| 15 | administered by the Department of State. Funds shall be credited | ||
| 16 | to the trust fund as provided in s. 106.423, to be used for the | ||
| 17 | purposes of the Florida Clean Elections Act as set forth in ss. | ||
| 18 | 106.401-106.425. | ||
| 19 | (2) In accordance with s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of the State | ||
| 20 | Constitution, the Clean Money Trust Fund shall be terminated on | ||
| 21 | July 1, 2007, unless terminated sooner. Before its scheduled | ||
| 22 | termination, the trust fund shall be reviewed as provided in s. | ||
| 23 | 215.3206. | ||
| 24 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003, if | ||
| 25 | House Bill 291 or similar legislation creating the Florida Clean | ||
| 26 | Elections Act is adopted in the same legislative session or an | ||
| 27 | extension thereof and becomes law. | ||
