11  Senator Campbell moved the following amendment:
12  
13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 2, lines 23-27, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         Section 2.  The Sarasota County School Board is
18  authorized and directed to compensate Michael Yahraus's widow,
19  Denise Yahraus, as personal representative of the Estate of
20  Michael Yahraus, and his three children, Nadia Yahraus,
21  Michael Yahraus, and Jonathan Yahraus, for the death of
22  Michael Yahraus caused by school board employee negligence, in
23  the amount of $1,050,000, such payment to be made out of funds
24  of the District School Board not otherwise appropriated, and
25  to be made 30 days following the first July 1 after the
26  effective date of this act. After payment of statutory
27  attorney's fees and costs, and any outstanding workers'
28  compensation lien, 50 percent of the balance shall be paid to
29  Denise Yahraus, and the remaining 50 percent shall be divided
30  into three equal shares, with one share being paid into each
31  of the three children's restricted guardianship accounts.

 6                  A bill to be entitled
 7         An act relating to the Sarasota County School
 8         Board; providing for the relief of Denise
 9         Yahraus individually and as the personal
10         representative of the estate of Michael
11         Yahraus, deceased, and his three minor
12         children, Nadia Yahraus, Michael Yahraus, and
13         Jonathan Yahraus; authorizing and directing the
14         school board of Sarasota County, Florida, to
15         compensate the estate for the death of Michael
16         Yahraus, due to the negligence of the Sarasota
17         County School Board; specifying the time and
18         manner of payment; providing an effective date.
