| 1 | A bill to be entitled | ||
| 2 | An act relating to the exploitation of elderly persons or | ||
| 3 | disabled adults; requiring the Department of Law | ||
| 4 | Enforcement to establish an Internet website that lists | ||
| 5 | identifying information concerning offenders having two or | ||
| 6 | more convictions for exploiting an elderly person or | ||
| 7 | disabled adult; providing for the department to remove the | ||
| 8 | information following the offender’s death or after a | ||
| 9 | specified period; providing an effective date. | ||

| 11 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | ||
| 12 | |||
| 13 | Section 1. Internet website to post repeated offenders of | ||
| 14 | crimes against the elderly or disabled.--The Department of Law | ||
| 15 | Enforcement shall establish an Internet website that lists the | ||
| 16 | name, alias, photograph, and last known address of each person | ||
| 17 | convicted of two or more violations of s. 825.103, Florida | ||
| 18 | Statutes, relating to the exploitation of an elderly person or | ||
| 19 | disabled adult. The Internet website shall be available to the | ||
| 20 | public free of charge. The department shall remove the name of | ||
| 21 | and identifying information concerning an offender from the | ||
| 22 | website when the offender dies or 20 years after the date of the | ||
| 23 | offender’s latest conviction, whichever occurs first. | ||
| 24 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003. | ||
