  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to license plates; amending ss.

  3         320.08056, 320.08058, F.S.; creating a series

  4         of Military Services license plates; providing

  5         for the distribution of annual use fees

  6         received from the sale of such plates;

  7         providing a contingent effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (mm) is added to subsection (4)

12  of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

14         (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall

15  be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

16         (mm)  Military Services license plate, $15.

17         Section 2.  Subsection (39) is added to section

18  320.08058, Florida Statutes, to read:

19         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

20         (39)  MILITARY SERVICES LICENSE PLATES.--

21         (a)  The department shall develop a series of military

22  services license plates for the United States Army, Navy, Air

23  Force, and Coast Guard as provided in this section. The word

24  "Florida" must appear at the top of the plate, and the word

25  "Army," "Navy," "Air Force," or "Coast Guard" must appear at

26  the bottom of the plate. The appropriate logo for the

27  particular branch of the military must appear on the left side

28  of the plate, approximately 3 inches in diameter.

29         (b)  The annual use fees shall be deposited into the

30  State Homes for Veterans Trust Fund and must be used solely to

 1  construct, operate, and maintain domiciliary and nursing homes

 2  for veterans, subject to the requirements of chapter 216.

 3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2003,

 4  but it shall not take effect unless it is enacted by at least

 5  a three-fifths vote of the membership of each house of the

 6  Legislature.

10    Creates a series of Military Services license plates and
      provides for the distribution of annual use fees to the
11    State Homes for Veterans Trust Fund to be used to build,
      operate, and maintain domiciliary and nursing homes for
