2 An act relating to license plates; amending ss.
3 320.08056, 320.08058, F.S.; creating a Fish
4 Florida license plate; providing for the
5 distribution of annual use fees received from
6 the sale of such plates; providing an effective
7 date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Paragraph (mm) is added to subsection (4)
12 of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:
13 320.08056 Specialty license plates.--
14 (4) The following license plate annual use fees shall
15 be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
16 (mm) Fish Florida license plate, $22.
17 Section 2. Subsection (39) is added to section
18 320.08058, Florida Statutes, to read:
19 320.08058 Specialty license plates.--
20 (39) "FISH FLORIDA" LICENSE PLATES.--
21 (a) The department shall develop a Fish Florida
22 license plate as provided in this section. The word "Florida"
23 must appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Fish
24 Florida!" must appear at the bottom of the plate.
25 (b) The annual use fees shall be distributed to the
26 Florida Foundation for Responsible Angling, Inc., to fund
27 aquatic education; marine resource stewardship, and ethical
28 angling practices in this state. A maximum of 15 percent of
29 the funds received by the foundation may be used for
30 administrative costs directly associated with the foundation's
31 grant distribution program and license plate funding. A

1 maximum of 10 percent of the funds may be used for continuing
2 promotion and marketing of the license plate. The foundation
3 shall provide for a peer review grant solicitation and award
4 process to distribute the remainder of the funds to benefit
5 aquatic education, marine resource stewardship, and ethical
6 angling practices in this state.
7 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
