11          An act relating to specialty license plates; amending ss.
12    320.08056 and 320.08058, F.S.; creating a series of
13    Military Services license plates; providing for the
14    distribution of annual use fees received from the sale of
15    such plates; providing an effective date.

17          Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
18         
19          Section 1. Paragraph (mm) is added to subsection (4) of
20    section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:
21          320.08056 Specialty license plates.--
22          (4) The following license plate annual use fees shall be
23    collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
24          (mm) Military Services license plate, $15.
25          Section 2. Subsection (39) is added to section 320.08058,
26    Florida Statutes, to read:
27          320.08058 Specialty license plates.--
28          (39) MILITARY SERVICES LICENSE PLATES.--
29          (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 320.08053, the
30    department shall develop a series of military services license
31    plates for the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast
32    Guard as provided in this section. The word "Florida" must
33    appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Army," "Navy,"
34    "Air Force," or "Coast Guard" must appear at the bottom of the
35    plate. The appropriate logo for the particular branch of the
36    military must appear on the left side of the plate,
37    approximately 3 inches in diameter.
38          (b) The department shall retain all revenues from the sale
39    of such plates until all startup costs for developing and
40    issuing the plates have been recovered. Thereafter, the annual
41    use fees shall be deposited into the State Homes for Veterans
42    Trust Fund and must be used solely to construct, operate, and
43    maintain domiciliary and nursing homes for veterans, subject to
44    the requirements of chapter 216.
45          Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
