2 An act relating to trust funds; terminating and
3 re-creating the Dale Hickam Excellent Teaching
4 Program Trust Fund within the Department of
5 Education without modification; carrying
6 forward current balances and continuing current
7 sources and uses thereof; providing an
8 effective date.

10 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
11 the Dale Hickam Excellent Teaching Program Trust Fund within
12 the Department of Education, which is otherwise scheduled to
13 be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and
14 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund
15 before its scheduled termination date and has found that it
16 continues to meet an important public purpose, and
17 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
18 policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for
19 its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

21 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

23 Section 1. (1) The Dale Hickam Excellent Teaching
24 Program Trust Fund within the Department of Education, FLAIR
25 number 48-2-206, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section
26 19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on July 1, 2006,
27 unless terminated sooner by law, is terminated on November 4,
28 2004, and re-created.
29 (2) All current balances of the trust fund are carried
30 forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund
31 are continued.
