2	An act relating to the Florida Retirement System; amending
3	s. 121.021, F.S.; revising the definition of the term
4	"normal retirement date" with respect to members of the
5	Elected Officers’ Class; providing an effective date.

7	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9	Section 1. Paragraph (d) of subsection (29) of section
10	121.021, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
11	121.021 Definitions.--The following words and phrases as
12	used in this chapter have the respective meanings set forth
13	unless a different meaning is plainly required by the context:
14	(29) "Normal retirement date" means the first day of any
15	month following the date a member attains one of the following
16	statuses:
17	(d) If an Elected Officers' Class member, the member:
18	1. Completes 6 years of creditable service in the Elected
19	Officers' Class and attains age 5562; or
20	2. Completes 2530years of any creditable service,
21	regardless of age, which may include a maximum of 4 years of
22	military service credit as long as such credit is not claimed
23	under any other system.

25	"Normal retirement age" is attained on the "normal retirement
26	date."
27	Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
