Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

|
Section 1. Subsection (6) is added to section 627.311, |
22
|
Florida Statutes, to read: |

|
627.311 Joint underwriters and joint reinsurers.-- |
24
|
(6)(a) The Florida Automobile Joint Underwriting |
25
|
Association created under this section shall be deemed to have |
26
|
appointed its general manager as its agent to receive service of |
27
|
all legal process issued against the association in any civil |
28
|
action or proceeding in this state. Process so served shall be |
29
|
valid and binding upon the insurer.

|
(b) Service of process upon the association’s general |
31
|
manager as the association’s agent pursuant to such an |
32
|
appointment shall be the sole method of service of process upon |
33
|
the association.

|
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
