2	An act relating to Levy County; amending ch. 98-473, Laws
3	of Florida, relating to the Cedar Key Water and Sewer
4	District; repealing a provision relating to bids for
5	contracts; providing an effective date.

7	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9	Section 1. Section 10 of chapter 98-473, Laws of Florida,
10	is amended to read:
11	Section 10. Reserved.(a) All work done by the District
12	in the construction, reconstruction, improvement, or enlargement
13	of the water supply and distribution system or sewage system
14	involving the expenditures of more than $1,000, except for the
15	purchase of the chemicals and supplies for water and sewage
16	treatment for which the consideration involved does not exceed
17	$1,500, shall be done by contract entered into following
18	advertisement for bids received on a stated date pursuant to
19	notice for sealed bids published at least once each week for 2
20	consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation among
21	contractors in the state. All such contracts shall be secured by
22	a performance bond in an amount not less than 80 percent of the
23	contract price, furnished by a surety company or companies
24	authorized to do business in the state.
25	Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
