1	House Resolution
2	A resolution commending the osteopathic physicians of
3	Florida and recognizing April 2, 2003, as "Osteopathic
4	Medicine Day."

6	WHEREAS, osteopathic physicians provide health care
7	services that account for more than 100 million patient visits
8	in this country each year, and
9	WHEREAS, Florida has nine accredited osteopathic hospitals,
10	an osteopathic medical college, and the fourth largest
11	osteopathic physician population in the United States, and
12	WHEREAS, osteopathic physicians provide comprehensive
13	medical care, including preventive medicine, diagnoses, and the
14	appropriate use of drugs, surgery, manipulation, and hospital
15	referrals, NOW, THEREFORE,

17	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
18	Florida:

20	That the House of Representatives commends the osteopathic
21	physicians of Florida for their contributions to the health and
22	welfare of the residents of this state and recognizes April 2,
23	2003, as "Osteopathic Medicine Day."
