That the House of Representatives urges Miguel A. Estrada |

to fully answer the questions posed of him, and fully provide |

the information requested, so that the United States Senate may |

|
reach an informed judgment of his fitness for the United States |
20
|
Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. |

|
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
22
|
presented to Miguel A. Estrada as a tangible token of the |
23
|
sentiments expressed herein. |

A resolution honoring Miguel A. Estrada. |

WHEREAS, Miguel A. Estrada has been nominated by President |
31
|
Bush to fill a vacancy on the United States Court of Appeals for |
32
|
the District of Columbia Circuit, one of the most prestigious |
33
|
courts of appeals in the nation, and |
34
|
WHEREAS, Miguel Estrada received a bachelor's degree magna |
35
|
cum laude from Columbia College in New York City before |
36
|
enrolling in Harvard Law School, where he earned his law degree |
37
|
magna cum laude, and |
38
|
WHEREAS, notwithstanding his accomplishments, Mr. Estrada, |
39
|
in the judgment of various members of the United States Senate, |
40
|
has failed to fully answer legitimate questions posed to him and |
41
|
failed to produce information related to his performance of |
42
|
official duties on behalf of the Federal Government, and |
43
|
WHEREAS, this lack of information has left members of the |
44
|
United States Senate with an incomplete picture of Mr. Estrada's |
45
|
fitness for the office for which he has been nominated, NOW, |
46
|
THEREFORE, |
