1	House Resolution
2	A resolution honoring Earl J. Lennard, Ph.D.
3
4	WHEREAS, Earl J. Lennard, Ph.D., was born in Hillsborough
5	County, Florida, in 1942, received his secondary education in
6	the public schools of that county, and was awarded bachelor and
7	doctoral degrees from the University of South Florida, also in
8	Hillsborough County, and
9	WHEREAS, Dr. Lennard has spent his professional life in
10	service to the School District of Hillsborough County and has
11	raised and educated his own children within the district, and
12	WHEREAS, Dr. Lennard was named superintendent of the
13	district in 1996 and has served with distinction since that
14	time, building the district’s reputation in the State of Florida
15	as one of innovation with positive results for the children it
16	serves, making it an ongoing and frequent model for the other 66
17	public school districts of the state, and
18	WHEREAS, Dr. Lennard is an active participant in his
19	community in volunteer service to a number of charitable and
20	civic organizations and works tirelessly on a number of boards,
21	authorities, and commissions as an educational professional, and
22	WHEREAS, Dr. Lennard was recognized for his professionalism
23	and expertise by being named State School Superintendent of the
24	Year by the Florida Association of School Superintendents during
25	a joint conference in Tampa with the Florida School Boards
26	Association on December 4, 2002, NOW, THEREFORE,

28	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
29	Florida:

31	That the members of the House of Representatives salute Dr.
32	Earl Lennard as one of Hillsborough County’s consummate role
33	models and distinguished residents and as an educator
34	extraordinaire.
35	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
36	presented to Earl J. Lennard, Ph.D., as a tangible token of the
37	sentiments expressed herein.
