| 2 | A resolution designating June 2-6, 2003, as "Chamber of | ||
| 3 | Commerce Week" in Florida. | ||

| 5 | WHEREAS, there are chambers of commerce located in local | ||
| 6 | communities throughout the State of Florida, representing both | ||
| 7 | small and large businesses, and | ||
| 8 | WHEREAS, in addition to promoting the business, civic, and | ||
| 9 | economic interests in the regions they serve, chambers of | ||
| 10 | commerce provide input to leaders on the local, state, and | ||
| 11 | federal levels of government on various issues of critical | ||
| 12 | concern to their members, and | ||
| 13 | WHEREAS, today's chambers of commerce are also vigorously | ||
| 14 | leading their communities in advancing technology, solving | ||
| 15 | problems, and establishing a clear vision for the future, and | ||
| 16 | WHEREAS, chamber volunteers give unselfishly of their time, | ||
| 17 | energy, and expertise to advance the mission of the local | ||
| 18 | chambers of commerce and to meet their annual goals, and | ||
| 19 | WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the merits of the chambers | ||
| 20 | of commerce across the state be recognized and that sincere | ||
| 21 | appreciation be expressed for the steadfast efforts of all who | ||
| 22 | are involved in the work of the chambers, NOW, THEREFORE, | ||

| 24 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of | ||
| 25 | Florida: | ||

| 27 | That the House of Representatives pauses in its | ||
| 28 | deliberations to recognize the outstanding efforts of the | ||
| 29 | state's chambers of commerce on behalf of their local | ||
| 30 | communities, their state, and their nation and to designate June | ||
| 31 | 2-6, 2003, as "Chamber of Commerce Week" in Tallahassee. | ||
