1 House Resolution
2          A resolution designating June 2-6, 2003, as "Chamber of
3    Commerce Week" in Florida.
4         
5          WHEREAS, there are chambers of commerce located in local
6    communities throughout the State of Florida, representing both
7    small and large businesses, and
8          WHEREAS, in addition to promoting the business, civic, and
9    economic interests in the regions they serve, chambers of
10    commerce provide input to leaders on the local, state, and
11    federal levels of government on various issues of critical
12    concern to their members, and
13          WHEREAS, today's chambers of commerce are also vigorously
14    leading their communities in advancing technology, solving
15    problems, and establishing a clear vision for the future, and
16          WHEREAS, chamber volunteers give unselfishly of their time,
17    energy, and expertise to advance the mission of the local
18    chambers of commerce and to meet their annual goals, and
19          WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the merits of the chambers
20    of commerce across the state be recognized and that sincere
21    appreciation be expressed for the steadfast efforts of all who
22    are involved in the work of the chambers, NOW, THEREFORE,
23         
24          Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
25    Florida:
26         
27          That the House of Representatives pauses in its
28    deliberations to recognize the outstanding efforts of the
29    state's chambers of commerce on behalf of their local
30    communities, their state, and their nation and to designate June
31    2-6, 2003, as "Chamber of Commerce Week" in Tallahassee.
