1	House Resolution
2	A resolution commending the New College of Florida for
3	achieving national prominence among institutions of higher
4	learning.

6	WHEREAS, the New College of Florida serves a distinctive
7	mission as the 4-year residential liberal arts honors college of
8	the State of Florida, and
9	WHEREAS, New College of Florida is the only public liberal
10	arts college and the only Florida school named to Barron's Guide
11	of the 56 most selective colleges in the United States, and
12	WHEREAS, New College of Florida was named one of the best
13	345 colleges in the United States by the Princeton Review, 2003,
14	and
15	WHEREAS, New College of Florida was recently ranked the
16	seventh best value in public higher education by Kiplinger's
17	Personal Finance magazine, 2002, and
18	WHEREAS, New College of Florida was the only Florida school
19	to be named a "Best Buy" by the Fiske Guide to Colleges, 2003,
20	and
21	WHEREAS, New College of Florida is a national leader in the
22	percentage of students obtaining graduate degrees, and
23	WHEREAS, New College of Florida has produced one of the
24	highest per capita percentages of Fulbright Scholars in the
25	country, NOW, THEREFORE,

27	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
28	Florida:

30	That New College of Florida is commended for its
31	contribution in bringing national recognition and prominence to
32	the state's institutions of higher learning.
