2	A resolution recognizing May 2003 as "Better Hearing and
3	Speech Month" in Florida.

5	WHEREAS, audiology and speech-language pathology services
6	throughout our nation work to enable individuals with
7	communication disorders to lead independent, productive, and
8	fulfilling lives, and
9	WHEREAS, Florida is proud and honored to have thousands of
10	audiologists and speech-language pathologists offering quality
11	education and health care services to its citizens, and
12	WHEREAS, the Florida Association of Speech-Language
13	Pathologists and Audiologists recognizes and values the efforts
14	of all those who work to eliminate or minimize the isolating
15	effects of communication disorders in the one in 10 families
16	affected by them, and
17	WHEREAS, the services of the dedicated audiologists and
18	speech-language pathologists who have helped many of Florida's
19	citizens overcome their communication disabilities should be
20	recognized, and
21	WHEREAS, audiologists and speech-language pathologists in
22	Florida observe Better Hearing and Speech Month each year during
23	the month of May, NOW, THEREFORE,

25	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
26	Florida:

28	That the House of Representatives recognizes May 2003 as
29	"Better Hearing and Speech Month" in Florida and encourages all
30	citizens to join in celebrating the achievements of audiologists
31	and speech-language pathologists in improving the quality of
32	life for people with communication disorders.
