| 11 | An act relating to prescription labeling and | ||
| 12 | reimbursement; creating s. 456.0392, F.S.; requiring a | ||
| 13 | prescribing practitioner's federal Drug Enforcement | ||
| 14 | Administration number or professional license number on | ||
| 15 | prescriptions for non-controlled substances; prohibiting | ||
| 16 | requiring the submission of the practitioner's federal | ||
| 17 | Drug Enforcement Administration number as a condition for | ||
| 18 | reimbursement or receipt of benefits; providing an | ||
| 19 | effective date. | ||

| 21 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | ||
| 22 | |||
| 23 | Section 1. Section 456.0392, Florida Statutes, is created | ||
| 24 | to read: | ||
| 25 | 456.0392 Prescription labeling and reimbursement.--Any | ||
| 26 | practitioner authorized under Florida law to write a | ||
| 27 | prescription for a non-controlled substance who does not have a | ||
| 28 | federal Drug Enforcement Administration number shall provide on | ||
| 29 | the prescription the practitioner's name and professional | ||
| 30 | license number. No patient or provider prescribing or dispensing | ||
| 31 | prescription drugs pursuant to Florida law shall be required to | ||
| 32 | submit the practitioner's federal Drug Enforcement | ||
| 33 | Administration number as a condition of reimbursement or receipt | ||
| 34 | of benefits. | ||
| 35 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003. | ||
