10 A bill to be entitled
11          An act relating to prescription labeling and
12    reimbursement; creating s. 456.0392, F.S.; requiring a
13    prescribing practitioner's federal Drug Enforcement
14    Administration number or professional license number on
15    prescriptions for non-controlled substances; prohibiting
16    requiring the submission of the practitioner's federal
17    Drug Enforcement Administration number as a condition for
18    reimbursement or receipt of benefits; providing an
19    effective date.

21          Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
22         
23          Section 1. Section 456.0392, Florida Statutes, is created
24    to read:
25          456.0392 Prescription labeling and reimbursement.--Any
26    practitioner authorized under Florida law to write a
27    prescription for a non-controlled substance who does not have a
28    federal Drug Enforcement Administration number shall provide on
29    the prescription the practitioner's name and professional
30    license number. No patient or provider prescribing or dispensing
31    prescription drugs pursuant to Florida law shall be required to
32    submit the practitioner's federal Drug Enforcement
33    Administration number as a condition of reimbursement or receipt
34    of benefits.
35          Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
