1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to prescription labeling and
3	reimbursement; creating s. 456.0392, F.S.; requiring a
4	prescribing practitioner's federal Drug Enforcement
5	Administration number or professional license number on
6	prescriptions for non-controlled substances; prohibiting
7	requiring the submission of the practitioner's federal
8	Drug Enforcement Administration number as a condition for
9	reimbursement or receipt of benefits; providing an
10	effective date.

12	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14	Section 1. Section 456.0392, Florida Statutes, is created
15	to read:
16	456.0392 Prescription labeling and reimbursement.--Any
17	practitioner authorized under Florida law to write a
18	prescription for a non-controlled substance who does not have a
19	federal Drug Enforcement Administration number shall provide on
20	the prescription the practitioner's name and professional
21	license number. No patient or provider prescribing or dispensing
22	prescription drugs pursuant to Florida law shall be required to
23	submit the practitioner's federal Drug Enforcement
24	Administration number as a condition of reimbursement or receipt
25	of benefits.
26	Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
