1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to state purchasing agreements and
3	construction contracts; providing an act name; requiring
4	parties to certain state contracts or agreements to remit
5	a specified portion of the contract or agreement price to
6	the state for specified purposes; providing for
7	construction of the act in pari materia with laws enacted
8	during the 2003 Regular Session of the Legislature;
9	providing an effective date.

11	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13	Section 1. (1) This is the “Slosberg Sunshine Remittance
14	Act.”
15	(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law and in
16	addition to any provision of law relating to entering into
17	contracts or purchase agreements with the state, any person or
18	business entity who enters into any contract or purchase
19	agreement with the state to provide services or commodities or
20	to construct any public project shall remit to the state an
21	amount equal to 1 percent of the price under the contract or
22	agreement. The proceeds of such remittance shall be used solely
23	to provide for salaries to hire additional teachers for purposes
24	of s. 1, Art. IX of the State Constitution, relating to class
25	size limitations.
26	Section 2. If any law amended by this act was also amended
27	by a law enacted at the 2003 Regular Session of the Legislature,
28	such laws shall be construed as if they had been enacted at the
29	same session of the Legislature, and full effect shall be given
30	to each if possible.
31	Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
