At the end of existing proviso language, following Specific
Appropriation 3B, INSERT:
From funds appropriated in Specific Appropriation 3B, $1,000,000 is
provided to fund activities designed to improve student achievement and
readiness for college for students enrolled in middle schools that are
feeder schools to low-performing high schools. Such activities shall be
designed to assess student achievement, aptitudes, and career interests
to provide information to school administrators, teachers, and parents.
Such information shall be used for the purpose of advising students and
parents regarding the coursework necessary to graduate from high school
and enter postsecondary education. The information shall provide a
basis for any diagnosis and prescription of remediation necessary for
the student to successfully complete college preparatory coursework,
FCAT, and any other assessments associated with college admission and/or
placement.
Line item amendments are accepted as part of the amendatory process. However, due to the necessity of using computerized systems this may entail a different placement
within a budget entity or the renumbering of the specific appropriation items. |
