Section 50. In order to implement Specific Appropriations |

360-361 of the 2003-2004 General Appropriations Act, subsection |

(8) is added to section 445.048, Florida Statutes, to read: |

445.048 Passport to Economic Progress demonstration |

|
program.-- |

|
(8) For fiscal year 2003-2004 only, the duties of the |
22
|
Department of Children and Family Services and the Agency for |
23
|
Workforce Innovation established in this section and s. 445.047 |
24
|
may be held in abeyance unless the regional workforce board |
25
|
continues the Passport to Economic Progress demonstration |
26
|
program by providing its own funding. If the local program is |
27
|
able to provide funding, the regional workforce board may enter |
28
|
into an interlocal agreement with the Department of Children and |
29
|
Family Services to obtain eligibility determinations. Funds |
30
|
provided to the department pursuant to such an interlocal |
31
|
agreement may be authorized for expenditure by budget amendment. |
32
|
This subsection expires July 1, 2004.
