Between line(s) 843 and 844, insert: |

Section 35. In order to implement Specific Appropriation |
17
|
59 of the 2003-2004 General Appropriations Act, paragraph (g) of |
18
|
subsection (2) of section 1011.71, Florida Statutes, is amended |
19
|
to read: |

|
1011.71 District school tax.-- |
21
|
(2) In addition to the maximum millage levy as provided in |
22
|
subsection (1), each school board may levy not more than 2 mills |
23
|
against the taxable value for school purposes to fund: |
24
|
(g) Payment of costs directly related to complying with |
25
|
state and federal environmental statutes, rules, and regulations |
26
|
governing school facilities and the cost of property and |
27
|
casualty insurance. |

|
|

|
|
30
|
Violations of these expenditure provisions shall result in an |
31
|
equal dollar reduction in the Florida Education Finance Program |
32
|
(FEFP) funds for the violating district in the fiscal year |
33
|
following the audit citation. |

|
Section 36. The amendment of paragraph (g) of subsection |
35
|
(2) of section 1011.71, Florida Statutes, by this act shall |
36
|
expire on July 1, 2004, and the text of that paragraph shall |
37
|
revert to that in existence on June 30, 2003, except that any |
38
|
amendments to such text enacted other than by this act shall be |
39
|
preserved and continued to operate to the extent that such |
40
|
amendments are not dependent upon the portions of such text |
41
|
which expire pursuant to the provisions of this act. |
