Between lines 4900 and 4901, insert: |

Section 33. There is created within the Department of |
18
|
Financial Services the Workers' Compensation Exemption Task |
19
|
Force to conduct a study with regard to allowing employers to |
20
|
opt out of workers' compensation requirements in chapter 440 if |
21
|
the employers provide health insurance and both short-term and |
22
|
long-term disability income insurance. The task force shall be |
23
|
composed of three members of the House of Representatives |
24
|
appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, three |
25
|
members of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate, |
26
|
three persons appointed by the Governor, and three persons |
27
|
appointed by the Chief Financial Officer. The chair of the task |
28
|
force shall be selected from among the membership by the Chief |
29
|
Financial Officer. The task force shall report its findings on |
30
|
or before November 1, 2003, to the Governor, the President of |
31
|
the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the |
32
|
Chief Financial Officer.
