1	House Resolution
2	A resolution congratulating the Seminole Community College
3	Raiders Baseball Championship Team.

5	WHEREAS, on May 13, 2003, at Osceola County Stadium, the
6	Seminole Community College Men's Baseball Team won the Region
7	VIII Florida Community College Activities Association State
8	Baseball Tournament in a determined effort to become the
9	school's first ever state baseball champions, and
10	WHEREAS, in their steady advance toward the title during
11	the play-offs, the Raiders defeated Broward Community College 5-
12	2, St. Petersburg College 14-12 and 9-5, and Indian River
13	Community College 11-5 before realizing a 6-4 victory over
14	Okaloosa-Walton Community College in the final game of the
15	tournament, and
16	WHEREAS, winning FCCAA Tournament awards were Raiders
17	Donnie Burkhalter, Most Valuable Player, and Zach McCamie, Most
18	Valuable Pitcher; making All-Tournament Team were Donnie
19	Burkhalter, Sean Greear, Mike Hnytka, John Michael Howell, Zach
20	McCamie, and Courtney Propst; and Head Coach Mike Nicholson was
21	named Coach of the Year, and
22	WHEREAS, while noting some of the factors that had affected
23	regular season play and expressing his enormous pride in the
24	team's efforts during the play-offs, Coach Nicholson is
25	confidently looking forward to the Seminole Community College
26	Raiders State Champions' participation in the 10-team NJCAA
27	College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado, on May 24-31,
28	2003, NOW, THEREFORE,

30	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
31	Florida:

33	That the Seminole Community College Raiders are
34	enthusiastically congratulated on their attainment of the 2003
35	Region VIII Florida Community College Activities Association
36	State Baseball Championship and are assured of the avid support
37	and genuine best wishes of the Members of this House as the team
38	competes in the NJCAA College World Series on May 24-31, 2003.
39	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
40	presented to Head Coach Mike Nicholson as a tangible token of
41	the sentiments expressed herein.
