14          Amendment (with title amendment)
15          Between line(s) 1589 and 1590, insert:
16          Section 31. Subsections (7) and (9) of section 106.08,
17    Florida Statutes, are renumbered as subsections (8) and (10),
18    respectively, subsection (8) is renumbered as subsection (9) and
19    amended, and a new subsection (7) is added to said section, to
20    read:
21          106.08 Contributions; limitations on.--
22          (7) A member of the Legislature may neither solicit nor
23    accept any contribution during any legislative session on the
24    member's own behalf, on behalf of a political party, or on
25    behalf of a candidate for the house of the Legislature of the
26    member; however, a member may contribute to the member's own
27    campaign.
28          (9)(8) Except when otherwise provided in subsection (8)
29    (7), any person who knowingly and willfully violates any
30    provision of this section shall, in addition to any other
31    penalty prescribed by this chapter, pay to the state a sum equal
32    to twice the amount contributed in violation of this chapter.
33    Each campaign treasurer shall pay all amounts contributed in
34    violation of this section to the state for deposit in the
35    General Revenue Fund.
