2	A resolution designating February 2004 as "Hindu Heritage
3	Month" in Florida.

5	WHEREAS, Hinduism represents one of the most ancient
6	cultures promoting spirituality, nonviolence, tolerance, world
7	peace, international fraternity, and strong family values, and
8	WHEREAS, there is a sizable Hindu population in ethnically
9	diverse Florida, which contributes to the state by promoting the
10	rich heritage, culture, and values of Hinduism, and
11	WHEREAS, there is a strong emphasis among Hindus to pursue
12	learning and acquire knowledge and wisdom in all aspects of
13	life, and
14	WHEREAS, during the month of February, the Hindus worship
15	Saraswati, a goddess believed to bestow knowledge, wisdom, and
16	spirituality, and
17	WHEREAS, the South Florida Hindu Temple in Broward County,
18	as well as many Hindu temples throughout the state, celebrate
19	Hindu Heritage Month during February, NOW, THEREFORE,
20
21	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
22	Florida:

24	That the House of Representatives designates February 2004
25	as "Hindu Heritage Month" in Florida.
