  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to workers' compensation;

  3         changing from January 1, 2004, to July 1, 2004,

  4         the effective date of amendments made by

  5         chapter 2003-412, Laws of Florida, to ss.

  6         440.02, 440.05, and 440.077, F.S., which govern

  7         coverage requirements for workers'

  8         compensation, the election of an exemption from

  9         coverage requirements, and the effect of such

10         election; providing an effective date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13  

14         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other law, the

15  amendments to sections 440.02, 440.05, and 440.077, Florida

16  Statutes, which were made by sections 2, 3, and 5 of chapter

17  2003-412, Laws of Florida, shall not take effect on January 1,

18  2004, as provided by that law, but shall take effect July 1,

19  2004.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.

24                          SENATE SUMMARY

25    Delays from January 1, 2004, until July 1, 2004, the
      effective date of amendments made by Senate Bill 50-A to
26    ss. 440.02, 440.05, and 440.077, F.S., governing
      requirements for workers' compensation coverage and the
27    election of an exemption from those requirements.
