14 On page 11, between lines 8 and 9,

16 insert:
17 13. Authorizing the grantee to work in conjunction
18 with the Florida State University College of Medicine, the
19 Florida State University School of Nursing, or the Florida A &
20 M University School of Nursing to enhance multidisciplinary
21 work on issues related to aging, including the study and cure
22 of adult-onset diseases and illness. To further such work, the
23 Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund shall
24 negotiate the sale of the remaining Sunland property in
25 Tallahassee to a private entity that agrees to renovate the
26 existing Sunland facility for use as a mixed-use housing and
27 healthcare facility for the elderly. Notwithstanding chapter
28 253, the proceeds from the sale must be deposited into the
29 Department of Children and Family Services' Administrative
30 Trust Fund and, subject to legislative appropriation, must be
31 used to construct, renovate, equip, maintain, and improve the

1 department's facilities. The negotiated sale shall be at an
2 amount at least equal to 120 percent of the property's average
3 appraised value in state-funded appraisals within the last 2
4 years. The negotiated sale shall also require the private
5 entity to renovate the existing Sunland structure and provide
6 space in the existing facility for lease, as needed, at
7 current market rates to The Scripps Research Institute,
8 Florida State University, or Florida A & M University, as
9 desired, for their individual or collaborative work on issues
10 related to the study and care of adult-onset diseases and
11 illness.
