3     Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Remove lines 79-80 and insert:
5     Section 3.  (1)  Notwithstanding any other law,
6instructional personnel, as defined in s. 1012.01(2), Florida
7Statutes, employed by a developmental research school or the
8Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind are eligible for
9reemployment after retirement in the same manner as classroom
10teachers who are employed by the district school boards, as
11described in ss. 121.091(9)(b)3. and 238.181(2)(c), Florida
12Statutes.
13     (2)  Instructional personnel, as defined in s. 1012.01(2),
14Florida Statutes, employed by a developmental research school
15and authorized by the school's director, or if the school has no
16director, by the school's principal, are eligible for the
17Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) beyond 60 months in
18the same manner as the instructional personnel who are employed
19by the district school boards and authorized by the district
20school superintendent, as described in s. 121.091(13), Florida
21Statutes.
22     Section 4.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law
23and sections 1 and 2 of this act shall apply retroactively to
24July 1, 2003.

28applicability; providing that certain reemployment and
29retirement benefits are available to instructional personnel
30employed by developmental research schools and the Florida
31School for the Deaf and the Blind; providing an effective date.
