5 | Remove lines 79-80 and insert: |
6 | Section 3. (1) Notwithstanding any other law, |
7 | instructional personnel, as defined in s. 1012.01(2), Florida |
8 | Statutes, employed by a developmental research school or the |
9 | Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind are eligible for |
10 | reemployment after retirement in the same manner as classroom |
11 | teachers who are employed by the district school boards, as |
12 | described in ss. 121.091(9)(b)3. and 238.181(2)(c), Florida |
13 | Statutes. |
14 | (2) Instructional personnel, as defined in s. 1012.01(2), |
15 | Florida Statutes, employed by a developmental research school |
16 | and authorized by the school's director, or if the school has no |
17 | director, by the school's principal, are eligible for the |
18 | Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) beyond 60 months in |
19 | the same manner as the instructional personnel who are employed |
20 | by the district school boards and authorized by the district |
21 | school superintendent, as described in s. 121.091(13), Florida |
22 | Statutes. |
23 | Section 4. Effective July 1, 2004, the director or |
24 | principal of a charter school participating in the Florida |
25 | Retirement System may reemploy a retired member as a substitute |
26 | or hourly teacher on a noncontractual basis, or reemploy such |
27 | retired member as instructional personnel, as defined in s. |
28 | 1012.01(2)(a), Florida Statutes, on an annual contractual basis, |
29 | after he or she has been retired for 1 calendar month in |
30 | accordance with s. 121.021(39), Florida Statutes. |
31 | Section 5. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law |
32 | and sections 1 and 2 of this act shall apply retroactively to |
33 | July 1, 2003. |
