9 | Florida Statutes; a chiropractic physician licensed under |
10 | chapter 460, Florida Statutes; a podiatric physician licensed |
11 | under chapter 461, Florida Statutes; an advanced registered |
12 | nurse practitioner, registered nurse, or licensed practical |
13 | nurse licensed under part I of chapter 464, Florida Statutes; a |
14 | dentist or dental hygienist licensed under chapter 466, Florida |

18 | (2) Notwithstanding any provision of chapter 458, chapter |
19 | 459, chapter 460, chapter 461, part I of chapter 464, chapter |
20 | 466, or chapter 467, Florida Statutes, to the contrary, any |
21 | health care practitioner who participates as a health care |
22 | provider under s. 766.1115, Florida Statutes, and thereby agrees |
23 | with a governmental contractor to provide his or her services |
24 | without compensation and as an agent of the governmental |
25 | contractor to low-income recipients in accordance with s. |
26 | 766.1115, Florida Statutes, for at least 80 hours a year for |
27 | each year during the biennial licensure period, or, if the |
28 | health care practitioner is retired, for at least 400 hours a |
29 | year for each year during the licensure period, upon providing |
30 | sufficient proof from the applicable governmental contractor |
31 | that the health care practitioner has completed the hours at the |
32 | time of license renewal under procedures specified by the |
33 | Department of Health, shall be eligible for: |
34 | (a) Waiver of the biennial license renewal fee for an |
35 | active license; and |
36 | (b) Fulfillment of a maximum of 25 percent of the |
37 | continuing education hours required for license renewal under s. |
38 | 456.013(9), Florida Statutes. |
39 | Section 3. Subsections (3) and (4) of section 381.00593, |
40 | Florida Statutes, are amended to read: |

43 | (3) For purposes of this section, the term "health care |
44 | practitioner" means a physician licensed under chapter 458; an |
45 | osteopathic physician licensed under chapter 459; a chiropractic |

47 | licensed under chapter 461; an optometrist licensed under |
48 | chapter 463; an advanced registered nurse practitioner, |

52 | midwife licensed under chapter 467; a speech-language |
53 | pathologist or audiologist licensed under part I of chapter 468; |
54 | a dietitian/nutritionist licensed under part X of chapter 468; |
55 | or a physical therapist licensed under chapter 486. |
56 | (4)(a) Notwithstanding any provision of chapter 458, |
57 | chapter 459, chapter 460, chapter 461, chapter 463, part I of |
58 | chapter 464, chapter 465, chapter 466, chapter 467, parts part I |
59 | and X of chapter 468, or chapter 486 to the contrary, any health |
60 | care practitioner who participates in the program established in |
61 | this section and thereby agrees to provide his or her services, |
62 | without compensation, in a public school for at least 80 hours a |
63 | year for each school year during the biennial licensure period, |
64 | or, if the health care practitioner is retired, for at least 400 |
65 | hours a year for each school year during the licensure period, |
66 | upon providing sufficient proof from the applicable school |
67 | district that the health care practitioner has completed such |
68 | hours at the time of license renewal under procedures specified |
69 | by the Department of Health, shall be eligible for the |
70 | following: |
71 | 1. Waiver of the biennial license renewal fee for an |
72 | active license; and |
73 | 2. Fulfillment of a maximum of 25 percent of the |

77 | The school district may establish a schedule for health care |
78 | practitioners who participate in the program. |
79 | (b) A health care practitioner must complete all forms and |
80 | procedures for participation in the program prior to the |
81 | applicable license renewal date. |
