  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zones; creating

  3         s. 290.00702, F.S.; providing for application

  4         by Osceola County or Osceola County and the

  5         City of Kissimmee jointly to apply for

  6         designation of an enterprise zone; authorizing

  7         the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic

  8         Development to designate an enterprise zone

  9         within an area of Osceola County or of Osceola

10         County and the City of Kissimmee jointly;

11         providing requirements with respect thereto;

12         providing an effective date.

14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15  

16         Section 1.  Section 290.00702, Florida Statutes, is

17  created to read:

18         290.00702  Enterprise zone designation for Osceola

19  County or Osceola County and Kissimmee.--Osceola County, or

20  Osceola County and the City of Kissimmee jointly, may apply to

21  the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for

22  designation of one enterprise zone within the county, or

23  within both the county and the city. The application must be

24  submitted by December 31, 2004, and must comply with the

25  requirements of s. 290.0055. Notwithstanding the provisions of

26  s. 290.0065 limiting the total number of enterprise zones

27  designated and the number of enterprise zones within a

28  population category, the Office of Tourism, Trade, and

29  Economic Development may designate one enterprise zone under

30  this section. The Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic

 1  Development shall establish the initial effective date of the

 2  enterprise zone designated under this section.

 3         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

 4  law.
