A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to alcoholic beverage licenses; amending
3s. 565.02, F.S.; authorizing the issuance of a non-quota
4license to certain sporting and recreational lodges;
5providing serving hours; providing an effective date.

7Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9     Section 1.  Present subsection (12) of section 565.02,
10Florida Statutes, is redesignated as subsection (13), and a new
11subsection (12) is added to that section to read:
12     565.02  License fees; vendors; clubs; caterers; and
13others.--
14     (12)  A sporting and recreational lodge complex may obtain,
15upon the payment of appropriate fees, a license for on-premises
16consumption of alcoholic beverages not subject to any quota or
17limitation if the complex:
18     (a)  Comprises at least 10,000 acres of land.
19     (b)  Has indoor sleeping facilities with at least 12 rooms.
20     (c)  Has a restaurant that seats at least 25 persons.
21     (d)  Has been in continuous existence for at least 2 years.

23The enclosed area within the complex shall be considered the
24licensed premises upon the payment of the fee. Except as
25otherwise provided in this subsection, entities licensed under
26this subsection shall be treated as vendors licensed to sell
27alcoholic beverages by the drink and shall be subject to all the
28provisions relating to such vendors. However, notwithstanding
29any provision of law, the serving hours of such complex shall be
30from 5 p.m. until sunrise.
31     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2004.
