| 7 | the Charter for Escambia County; providing for employees |
| 8 | of the authority to become employees of the Charter |
| 9 | Agency; providing for referendum approval; providing a |
| 10 | contingent effective date. |

| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 13 |

| 14 | Section 1. Chapter 24500 (1947), Laws of Florida, as |
| 15 | amended by chapters 25810 (1949), 26422 (1949), 61-2797, 63- |
| 16 | 1322, 70-680, 75-366, 76-361, 76-362, 76-368, 76-371, 79-457, |
| 17 | 83-407, 84-426, and 85-409, Laws of Florida, is repealed. |
| 18 | Section 2. On the effective date of this act, all powers, |
| 19 | duties, assets, and liabilities of the Santa Rosa Island |
| 20 | Authority are transferred to the Santa Rosa Island Authority, a |
| 21 | Charter Agency, created by the Charter for Escambia County |
| 22 | approved by a majority of the voters of Escambia County in a |
| 23 | referendum election on March 9, 2004. On the effective date of |
| 24 | this act, employees of the Santa Rosa Island Authority shall |
| 25 | become employees of the Charter Agency. |
| 26 | Section 3. This act shall take effect November 15, 2004, |
| 27 | if the Charter for Escambia County is approved by a majority of |
| 28 | the voters of Escambia County in a referendum election on March |
| 29 | 9, 2004. |
