11  Senator Campbell moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 
14         On page 3, line 7, after the period,
15  
16  insert:  A person convicted as a habitual misdemeanant may not
17  be sentenced to the mandatory minimum in jail or in a
18  sentencing alternative without being evaluated by a qualified
19  social worker or licensed health care professional and a
20  recommendation from the qualified social worker or licensed
21  health care professional as to an appropriate placement. Any
22  facility to which a convicted habitual misdemeanant is
23  sentenced must provide to the court a comprehensive discharge
24  plan that includes a housing component at least one month
25  before discharge.
