4 | nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the United States |
5 | until peace and order are restored in Haiti. |

7 | WHEREAS, temporary protected status may be granted to |
8 | eligible nationals of designated countries deemed to be in |
9 | crisis, and |
10 | WHEREAS, Haiti is a nation currently in crisis, with |
11 | lingering political turmoil and violent uprisings on the |
12 | increase, and |
13 | WHEREAS, nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the |
14 | United States may suffer reprisals, including injury or death, |
15 | if deported back to Haiti under current conditions, NOW, |
16 | THEREFORE, |

18 | Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

20 | That the Congress of the United States is requested to |
21 | grant temporary protected status to all nonimmigrant Haitian |
22 | nationals living in the United States until peace and order are |
23 | restored in Haiti. |
24 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be |
25 | dispatched to the President of the United States, to the |
26 | President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the |
27 | United States House of Representatives, and to each member of |
28 | the Florida delegation to the United States Congress. |
