1	House Memorial
2	A memorial to the Congress of the United States, urging
3	Congress to grant temporary protected status to all
4	nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the United States
5	until peace and order are restored in Haiti.

7	WHEREAS, temporary protected status may be granted to
8	eligible nationals of designated countries deemed to be in
9	crisis, and
10	WHEREAS, Haiti is a nation currently in crisis, with
11	lingering political turmoil and violent uprisings on the
12	increase, and
13	WHEREAS, nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the
14	United States may suffer reprisals, including injury or death,
15	if deported back to Haiti under current conditions, NOW,
16	THEREFORE,

18	Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

20	That the Congress of the United States is requested to
21	grant temporary protected status to all nonimmigrant Haitian
22	nationals living in the United States until peace and order are
23	restored in Haiti.
24	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
25	dispatched to the President of the United States, to the
26	President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the
27	United States House of Representatives, and to each member of
28	the Florida delegation to the United States Congress.
