A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to enterprise zones; authorizing the
3governing body of certain counties to apply to the Office
4of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development to amend the
5boundaries of a certain area within a certain enterprise
6zone; requiring the office to approve the application
7under certain circumstances; providing requirements;
8providing an effective date.

10Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12     Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of chapter
13290, Florida Statutes, the governing body of any inland county,
14with a state-designated enterprise zone and a population greater
15than 500,000, may apply to the Office of Tourism, Trade, and
16Economic Development to amend the boundaries of such enterprise
17zone. The increased areas shall be contiguous to the existing
18enterprise zone. The office shall approve the application as
19long as the amended area does not exceed 5 square miles and is
20consistent with the categories, criteria, and limitations
21imposed by s. 290.0055, Florida Statutes, upon the establishment
22of such enterprise zone. The enterprise zone boundary amendment
23application must be received before December 31, 2004.
24     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2004.
