| 2 | An act relating to enterprise zones; authorizing the |
| 3 | governing body of certain counties to apply to the Office |
| 4 | of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development to amend the |
| 5 | boundaries of a certain area within a certain enterprise |
| 6 | zone; requiring the office to approve the application |
| 7 | under certain circumstances; providing requirements; |
| 8 | providing an effective date. |

| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |

| 12 | Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of chapter |
| 13 | 290, Florida Statutes, the governing body of any inland county, |
| 14 | with a state-designated enterprise zone and a population greater |
| 15 | than 500,000, may apply to the Office of Tourism, Trade, and |
| 16 | Economic Development to amend the boundaries of such enterprise |
| 17 | zone. The increased areas shall be contiguous to the existing |
| 18 | enterprise zone. The office shall approve the application as |
| 19 | long as the amended area does not exceed 5 square miles and is |
| 20 | consistent with the categories, criteria, and limitations |
| 21 | imposed by s. 290.0055, Florida Statutes, upon the establishment |
| 22 | of such enterprise zone. The enterprise zone boundary amendment |
| 23 | application must be received before December 31, 2004. |
| 24 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2004. |
