  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the rental car surcharge;

  3         amending s. 212.0606, F.S.; revising

  4         allocations of proceeds from the rental car

  5         surcharge; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section

10  212.0606, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

11         212.0606  Rental car surcharge.--

12         (2)(a)  Notwithstanding the provisions of section

13  212.20, and less costs of administration, 70 80 percent of the

14  proceeds of this surcharge shall be deposited in the State

15  Transportation Trust Fund, 22 15.75 percent of the proceeds of

16  this surcharge shall be deposited in the Tourism Promotional

17  Trust Fund created in s. 288.122, and 8 4.25 percent of the

18  proceeds of this surcharge shall be deposited in the Florida

19  International Trade and Promotion Trust Fund. For the purposes

20  of this subsection, "proceeds" of the surcharge means all

21  funds collected and received by the department under this

22  section, including interest and penalties on delinquent

23  surcharges. The department shall provide the Department of

24  Transportation rental car surcharge revenue information for

25  the previous state fiscal year by September 1 of each year.

26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

27  law.
