11 The Committee on Criminal Justice recommended the following
12 amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 3, between lines 22 and 23,
16
17 insert:
18 (7) The seaport security director for each seaport
19 identified in s. 311.09 or any agent or employee thereof
20 designated by the seaport security director to maintain order
21 and provide security within the seaport, who has probable
22 cause to believe that a person is trespassing in a designated
23 restricted access area of a seaport may take such person into
24 custody and detain him or her in a reasonable manner for a
25 reasonable length of time pending the arrival of a law
26 enforcement officer. Such taking into custody and detention
27 by an authorized person does not render that person criminally
28 or civilly liable for false arrest, false imprisonment, or
29 unlawful detention. If a trespasser is taken into custody, a
30 law enforcement officer shall be called to the scene
31 immediately after the person is taken into custody.
