11  The Committee on Comprehensive Planning recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enacting clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law,
19  a governing body located wholly within the boundaries of a
20  consolidated government may apply to the Office of Tourism,
21  Trade, and Economic Development to amend the boundary of its
22  existing enterprise zone. The area proposed for addition to
23  the enterprise zone must include the three noncontiguous areas
24  designated as a federal empowerment zone under the 2000
25  Community Renewal Tax Relief Act without any limitations as to
26  size. The Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development
27  may approve an amendment to the enterprise zone boundary lines
28  provided the application is submitted before December 31,
29  2004, and meets the requirements of this section.
30         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2004.

 7         An act relating to enterprise zones;
 8         authorizing a governing body within the
 9         boundaries of a consolidated government to
10         apply to the Office of Tourism, Trade, and
11         Economic Development to amend an enterprise
12         zone; authorizing the Office of Tourism, Trade,
13         and Economic Development to approve enterprise
14         zone boundary amendment applications; providing
15         an effective date.
